On 8th April, 2025, in a bid to fulfill it's commitment to community welfare and social outreach, the NSS Unit of Government Model College, Deithor (GMCD) organized a free health check-up camp at Fallangani village of Golaghat District. The camp was conducted in collaboration with Kuhi Kristi Bikash Kendra , Fallangani and VK NRL Hospital, Numaligarh.
More than 170 villagers benefited from free medical assistance provided by the expert team from VK NRL Hospital. The camp was marked by the enthusiastic participation of NSS volunteers, who contributed significantly to the smooth functioning of the event.
Dr. Dhruba Jyoti Doley, Programme Officer of the NSS Unit of GMCD, along with Mr. Priyanku Hazarika, Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology, GMCD and Mr. Ranjan Kalita, Dietician of VK NRL Hospital addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of Poshan Pakhwada—a government initiative aimed at improving nutritional outcomes for children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.
The initiative stands as a testament to the institution’s commitment to social responsibility and holistic development through collaborative community engagement.
