Black Day observed to commemorate the victims of Charchim Massacre

October 17 is marked as the Black Day/Mourning Day in Karbi Anglong district due to the fact that an ethnic clash erupted in the year 2005, which caused death of 42 innocent souls. A group of miscreants killed the innocent Karbi people by attacking a bus in Charchim Village (West Karbi Anglong). For eternal peace of those innocent souls who had lost their lives in this massacre as well as in this conflict, Government Model College, Deithor has also observed a condolence meet in presence of the Principal Dr. Dipok Kumar Bora along with the faculties, non-Teaching staffs and students. Mr. Priyanku Hazarika, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Sociology and Dr.Phulmoni Das, Assistant Professor, dept. of Political Science demonstrated though provoking presentations by highlighting different aspects of violence and its precautionary measures.
